Terms of Service

Welcome to KINFOLX — a private family photo vault with AI-assisted face tagging, shared albums, memorial pages, and live event photo collection. By using the app, you agree to these terms. If anything is unclear, email support@kinfolx.ai.

Your account

You must be 16 or older to create a KINFOLX account. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Don't share your account with anyone; invite them to your vault instead.

Your content

You retain ownership of every photo, video, and piece of information you upload — whether scanned through the app, imported from iCloud / Google Photos / device gallery, or written directly (memorials, relationship labels, names). You grant us a limited license to store, display, and process your content strictly to provide the service (show it to you and the people you invite, run face detection, generate AI-restored photo variants on your request, AI-polish obituary drafts on your request, publish memorial pages you mark public, and back everything up). We do not use your content for advertising or to train external AI models.

You represent that you have the right to upload the content you share. Don't upload photos of people who've asked not to be included.

AI features

KINFOLX includes AI-assisted features: face detection and clustering, photo restoration (Legacy plan), and obituary polishing. AI is an editor, not an author — we don't generate memorial content from scratch, and restored photo variants are produced from your original image, not invented. You always control whether to keep or discard AI output. Originals are never overwritten.

Memorial pages

Memorials are private to your family vault by default. If you explicitly toggle a memorial public, its contents (text, selected photos, subject's name) become accessible to anyone with the link. You can take a memorial private again at any time, which removes it from public view. We reserve the right to remove memorials that violate our acceptable-use rules.

Edit approvals

If you are not the owner of a family vault you belong to, tree edits you propose (adding a new family member) are routed to the vault owner for approval. The owner may approve, decline, or ignore the request. Approved edits take effect immediately.

Acceptable use

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Subscriptions and one-time purchases

Paid plans are billed through the App Store or Google Play on the schedule shown at checkout. Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel before the renewal date. Cancellations and refunds are handled by Apple / Google per platform policy. Free tier is always available and requires no payment.

One-time purchases: Memorial public-URL hosting ($49.99 first year, $10.99 yearly renewal) and Event Boost ($9.99 per purchase, adds +500 photos and +5 GB to a single live event) are non-renewing one-time products. They're billed once and applied to the specific memorial or event you purchased them for. Refunds are still handled by Apple / Google per platform policy.

Promo codes

Promo codes unlock paid features for a limited time. Codes are non-transferable, not redeemable for cash, and can be revoked if abused.

Service availability

We work hard to keep KINFOLX running, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Back up important photos elsewhere when it matters (we also keep backups, but no system is perfect).

Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Your profile, uploaded photos, and memberships are removed. Photos other members uploaded to vaults you shared stay with those members.

Liability

KINFOLX is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for lost photos, service outages, or indirect damages. Our total liability is capped at the amount you've paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes

If we materially change these terms, we'll notify you in-app. Your continued use means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA. Disputes will be resolved in Illinois courts unless a mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction says otherwise.
